Therapeutic Approach

Why Rites of Passage NW Wilderness Therapy? What is different about Rites of Passage NW Wilderness Therapy Obesity Health and Wellness Camps?

wellness_opt

We have combined a traditional fat camp with our Rites of Passage therapy model and a complete holistic food program to bring about a whole new approach to the traditional weight loss camps. Instead of teaching kids portion sizes and how toeat one slice of pizza, we teach our kids all about holistic nutritious foods, where to get them, how to cook them (yes, students get to cook their own meals while out on our adventures), how to make them super tasty and how to continue this way of life once they return home. We combine this facet of our program with an intensive therapy program that delves deep into the root issues that have brought our kids to Rites of Passage NW Wilderness Therapy Obesity Health and Wellness Camp. Individual therapy sessions, group therapy and family therapy are combined to make this a therapy rich experience. Each night, there are also campfire counsel groups where kids practice peer to peer feedback and leadership.
