Wilderness Therapy Treatment for Drugs and Substance Abuse

Wilderness Therapy Treatment for Drugs and Substance Abuse

Nothing can be more heartbreaking for a parent than to watch their teen struggle with drugs and alcohol. For some teens, it can truly just be an experimental and rebellious phase – while they may experiment with substances, they easily go back to going to school, being with friends, and having a normal life. For other teens, that experimental phase turns into a bad habit that may even include numerous detoxes, rehabs, and trouble with the law. Here at Rites of Passage NW, we offer wilderness therapy treatment for drugs and substance abuse, that can not only help troubled teens get sober, but stay sober.

Wilderness Therapy Treatment for Drugs and Substance Abuse

We are a fully accredited drug and alcohol rehabilitation center here at Rites of Passage NW, but we are also a working farm and ranch. Here, teens will learn about drugs and alcohol treatment and recovery through the 12 steps, but will also become part of our working ranch, learning how to farm and garden, and also to take care of the many animals here on the ranch.

Teens learn about accountability and responsibility here, and as part of our program, they must either volunteer in the community, secure employment, or take online classes. Our long-term program includes reintegrating into “normal” life, so we show them all the tools necessary to do so.

We also have a lot of fun. Teens will learn survival skills, how to camp, and will participate in hiking and trekking adventures through the Olympic Mountains. Teens also will participate in regular group and individual therapy sessions, and relapse prevention programs.
