It can be heartbreaking for a parent to watch their child struggle. Often feeling helpless, parents may not know where to turn to or what to do if their adolescent child is experiencing problems relating to drugs and alcohol, eating disorders, depression, or bouts of anger. Schools are overcrowded and children get overlooked, and weekly therapy may not be a good fit. Here at Rites of Passage NW, we believe that we can help. Using therapies that involve accountability and responsivity, we have many tailored troubled youth programs in the NW to help teenagers become grounded again and live happy, full lives. No parent should have to struggle.
Every child is different, and their program will be tailored specifically to their needs, but here at Rites of Passage NW, we believe in therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy, immersion therapy, accountability and responsibility, group therapy, and one-on-one therapies. We also believe that examining a child’s past can help them see through to a better future. Dealing with stress can be hard as an adolescent, and we teach them coping mechanisms to help them along the way. A good way to think of it is having many tools in the toolbox.
Adolescents will also learn how to work better with others in a team, in social situations, and with their elders and peers. At the completion of therapy, the student will have envisioned who they want to be.
