This is the best internship out there — an internship where the wilderness is your office! The intern program runs for eight weeks starting concurrently with a session and follows the progress of the students over their Rites of Passage NW Wilderness Therapy wilderness therapy experience. Upon completion, the internship may become a paid position based on availability and merit. Interns will gain work-readiness skills such as communication, leadership and risk management. Interns will gain exposure to a range of sectors such as health care, education, recreation, skilled trades, social services, technology, case management support and mentorship.
- Enrolled in higher education – Pursuing a career working with kids in scope with the wilderness therapy industry.
- Graduates of either a bachelor or masters program and seeking entry or work experience working with troubled youth in a variety of therapeutic approaches.
- 21 years of Age
- WFR certified
Rites of Passage NW Wilderness Therapy provides expedition-based wilderness therapy programs for troubled adults, youth, teens and children who are struggling with a wide array of disorders and behavioral concerns. These wilderness therapy and long term care programs are designed to treat children, young adults and adults over 30 with issues such as Oppositional Defiant Disorder - ODD, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder - ADHD, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, mood disorders, substance abuse, drug abuse, obesity health and wellness, etc. Rites of Passage offers camps for troubled youth, programs for troubled young adults, long term drug treatment programs, long term drug addiction programs, long term alcohol rehab treatment center, summer weight loss camp for teens, weight loss camp for teens, weight loss programs for kids, wilderness therapy, wilderness therapy programs, and more.
