Micah Shanser

Micah Shanser is passionate about connecting youth and their families with nature and the healing that is found therein. Micah uses his trainings in coyote mentoring, Nonviolent Communication, and Somatics psychology to create a safe and healing environment for participants. Micah has a BA in Sociology from the University of Denver and currently studying with Peter Levine in the Trauma healing institute, and earning his MS in Mental Health counseling at Prescott College.

When not guiding at Rites of Passage, Micah is involved with his grass roots project - Restorative Adventures, working with teenagers and young adults.

Micah is trained as a Wilderness EMT-B, Ski patroller, and in technical rope rescue. When he is not working he enjoys backcountry skiing, cycling, rock climbing, backpacking, wild foraging and testing his survival skills.
