Rites of Passage NW Wilderness Therapy is unique in that we offer a multi-layered therapeutic approach.
Our wilderness therapy program specifically targets troubled teens and young adults. Individualized treatment plans are developed on a case-by-case basis that make them specific to each student. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is our main therapy model and basis for our treatment plans. In conjunction with CBT we utilize the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which complements this model.
CBT therapy, when conducted in the wilderness setting, has been proven to bring about results even faster than the same therapy when conducted in a traditional clinical setting. This is the miracle of wilderness therapy, and why our program is so effective.
With our small enrollment and specialized programming, we offer each student and family a chance to experience growth at Rites of Passage NW Wilderness Therapy on a personal level. Due to the nature of our individualized wilderness setting, individual and group therapy sessions are varied. We run individual, group and family therapy programs concurrently throughout the entire duration of each student’s stay. This allows for maximum change within the individual, group (peers) and family dynamic.
