Wilderness Therapy for Troubled Youth, Teens, and Young Adults in the NW

Wilderness Therapy for Troubled Youth, Teens, and Young Adults in the NW

It can be extremely tough for parents to watch their kids go through hard times. When it comes to issues like drug and alcohol use, depression, obesity, anxiety, and even experiencing trauma, parents may feel helpless and may not know where to turn. Some teens simply pass through rough spots and quickly come out the other side, but some teens need the extra help. When weekly therapy and school guidance counselors aren’t enough, Rites of Passage NW is here to help. We offer wilderness therapy for troubled youth, teens and young adults in the NW so that teens in trouble can get their life back on track.

Wilderness Therapy for Troubled Youth, Teens, and Young Adults in the NW

What exactly is wilderness therapy? You could call Rites of Passage NW a fat camp, or rehabilitation facility, but that isn’t entirely accurate. While we do work on healthier eating habits in our obesity wellness camp and sobriety in our drug and alcohol camp, we also provide teens with a unique, life-changing experience that they cannot quite get anywhere else, with activities such as survival camp skills and hiking adventures.

While here, teens are expected to participate in daily chores. We are a working ranch, so teens will learn how to farm, fish, and garden, in addition to animal care and actually running the ranch. Teens are also expected to work, volunteer, or attend school while in one of our long-term camps, making reemergence into society much easier upon discharge. We have an intensive aftercare plan as well to ensure that the sobriety or healthy eating habits they discover they can keep.
