Wilderness Therapy for Troubled Youth, Teens and Young Adults in Seattle

It is never easy for a parent to watch their child deal with illness, hard times, or anything that causes their son or daughter pain. When a teen experiences trouble, such as with the law, with drugs or alcohol, or with anxiety and depression, it can be overwhelming for the family unit as a whole. Parents may not know where to turn, and may feel helpless, turning to guidance counselors or weekly therapy. Sometimes those outlets are a good fit for teens, but sometimes additional help is needed. Rites of Passage NW features wilderness therapy for troubled youth, teens and young adults in Seattle so that they may recover from life’s hardships and live a successful, happy life.

Wilderness Therapy for Troubled Youth, Teens and Young Adults in Seattle

We have many different types of camps here at Rites of Passage NW for teens who are experiencing different problems. With areas dedicated to drug and alcohol problems and obesity, we also hone in on deeper problems that cause these issues, such as trauma, anxiety, and depression. We are a working ranch where teens will be required to participate in regular choirs and upkeep. We teach gardening as a therapy, and we also have animals here on the ranch for care and companionship.

Teens will also be expected to be team players. Our schedule and diet may be rigid at first, but after the two-week initial period, teens integrate well here at our facility. Teens with drug and alcohol problems are expected to attend regular 12 step meetings, and they will also volunteer in he local community to give back.
