Weight Loss Camp for Kids

Weight Loss Camp for Kids

It doesn’t matter what ailment, disease, affliction, symptom, addiction or condition a person is suffering from, the most precious and beneficial form of support is family. A family that is willing to make lifestyle changes in the home can have a life lasting effect on a child. At Rites of Passage NW Wilderness Therapy’s weight loss camp for kids, it is all about empowering the individual children.

However, the importance and benefits of having the family on the same healthy page is not lost or forgotten.

At Rites of Passage NW, we believe family participation is vital to the continuation of healthy living when the child returns home.

Weight Loss Camp for Kids

Although family does not participate in the camp itself, they are provided with resources which will enable them to understand the process their child will undertake. These resources will also allow them to prepare for their child’s return home.

During the final portion of the camp, immediate family is encouraged, if possible, to participate in a family workshop with your child’s therapist. The best resource of all however, will always be your child’s experiences.

Your child will learn that it is they and they alone that must take responsibility for their own choices in life and accept the consequences of those choices.

They will be empowered to overcome challenges using the abilities within themselves and new skills learned. They will learn to prepare and eat healthy foods. While on the trail, they will be responsible for preparing their own food, shelter, water and navigation under the guidance of our qualified guides.

Your child will return home with the confidence, self-respect, knowledge and your support to continue with good, healthy life choices.
