One of the toughest possible things as a parent is feeling helpless when a child becomes depressed, acts out in aggression, or wrestles with substance abuse problems like alcohol and drugs. Parents may not know where to turn when their child acts out. Schools are overcrowded and busy, and teenagers may resent weekly visits to a psychiatrist or counselor. Here at Rites of Passage NW, we believe that tough issues such as substance abuse and depression can be combated with one of our many troubled youth programs in Washington. Over time, we have learned that accountability, responsibility, and behavioral therapy in a controlled environment work well at helping revitalize a troubled adolescent’s life.
While every child’s therapy will be slightly different, we believe in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as helping a troubled teen examine their past, so that they can make better choices in the future. Through group therapy dynamics and one-on-one therapy sessions, teenagers can go from hopeless and restless to active and full of hope in a matter of weeks.
We believe strongly in accountability and responsibility, and our students will learn to work well as part of a team, in social situations, and with their peers. We like to help our students envision the changes they can see in their future lives and realize that there is hope.
Many different types of programs are available for different ages, genders, and types of problems.
