Being an actual working ranch, Rites of Passage is a safe, supportive and stable environment providing residents with a scheduled routine including chores, education and multi-leveled therapy sessions.
It is never easy for a parent to watch their child struggle, or have an illness. Drug and alcohol dependence and substance abuse can be debilitating to the teen going through it, but unfortunately it is a family disease.
Some times, children and teenagers experience problems, and get through them. Other times, the answer may not be so simple.
Here at Rites of Passage NW, our long-term program does offer individual therapy as well as group therapy with peers, but we also offer therapies such as equine therapy, wilderness therapy, and rites of passage therapy.
Teens will also learn how to be part of a team, and good social skills to use with both parents and peers.
In our program, teens will also learn about accountability and responsibility, and how to be an active, goal-oriented member of society.
Our students also learn how to interact better with their peers and elders, and how to be part of a team. Our teens are also expected to participate in daily chores and learn how to find a job after the program.
