Living with a teen or young adult suffering from substance abuse, low self-esteem, anxiety or any other behavioral or emotional problems can be challenging to say the least. The stress involved can lead not only to the destruction of the individual but to the family unit as a whole. At Rites of Passage NW, we understand these challenges and offer effective programs designed to show these teens and young adults they have the skills and ability to make change in themselves.
At Rites of Passage NW, we offer:
- Wilderness Therapy Trek Programs: A wilderness and adventure based program designed for those teens and young adults with behavioral or emotional issues and/or problems with substance abuse. They will learn to stand on their own two feet and overcome challenges.
- The Ranch Long Term Treatment Facility: This program is for those young adults who are recovering from addiction, have been diagnosed with a second disorder and may require continuing care.
- Obesity Health & Wellness Camp: Here, we teach our kids not to count calories but to make healthier food choices. We also teach them how to prepare and cook delicious holistic foods.
Placing our students in a wilderness environment empowers them to reflect and take responsibility for past behaviors and contemplate the path of their future. The therapeutic components of this experience combined with the intense therapy process with their on-staff therapist assists our student in revealing any suppressed emotions. It may also help reveal any underlying causes of their poor choices.
Our rites of passage model, our multi-level therapies and our high ratio of staff to students sets us apart from other programs. Our method of addressing the person as a whole at Rites of Passage NW has shown incredible and sustainable results in our students in a relatively short period of time.
