Residential Extended Care Program in Washington

Residential Extended Care Program in Washington

For anyone wishing to recover from drug and alcohol addiction, it can be an uphill battle. For teens especially, it can be a long road. Parents may not know how to deal with their child’s substance abuse issues, especially if it is compounded with a dual diagnosis and other emotional problems. Counseling and therapy may be a good start, but it may not provide the whole answer. Here at Rites of Passage NW, we have many in-depth treatments that will help teens rediscover themselves in a sober light, such as our residential extended care program in Washington. Sometimes a troubled adolescent needs to take that extra step for long-term success and recovery.

We provide traditional therapy such as group therapy and individual therapy, but also allow troubled youth to integrate with the community. As part of our long-term program, teens will volunteer locally and learn how to help others, participate with daily chores within the residence, and learn about healthier choices, including living a drug and alcohol-free lifestyle. Accountability and responsibility are two points we concentrate on in our extended care facility. We also believe in non-conventional therapy, such as nature and hiking therapies. To rediscover purpose, teens will participate in journal writing and self-reflection.

The stress a teenager is under can be too tough to bear, and they are not equipped with the coping skills and mechanisms that adults have. We like to add more tools to a teenager’s toolbox so that they can better cope with life.
