It is never easy for a parent to watch a child go through hard times and struggles. Sometimes, the hard times do not last long, but other times, a parent may need to call in extra help to get their child through the rough patches. A parent can sometimes feel helpless. They may turn to weekly therapy or to school officials, but weekly therapies are not a great fit for every child, and schools may be overcrowded and simply busy with other students. Here at Rites of Passage NW, we have many different programs for troubled youth in the NW, to specifically address the problems that affect troubled youth. Ranging from substance abuse treatment to treatment for depression, anxiety, and anger, we have many different programs to help a child get through tough times.
With therapies such as one-on-one therapy, group therapy and interaction with peers, and cognitive behavioral therapy, we can address the problems that teens are facing, and give them a vision of what the future looks like, if they stay on the path they are on, or choose a different path. Sometimes we have to look to a child’s past to better envision the future. Our students learn how to work with others in team situations, are prepared for work and employment, and learn how to interact socially with peers and adults.
Stress on a teenager can be incredibly hard. Imagine the stress that an adult goes through, and magnify it. Teenagers do not have a lot of life experience to depend on, or coping mechanisms to help with bad times. At Rites of Passage NW, we are here to help.
