Even with the support of parents, it can be very difficult to know where to begin. Here at Rites of Passage NW, we have a weight loss camp for teens in North America – USA that helps teens learn how to make healthier choices, not just for the duration of the camp, but for the rest of their lives.
Dieting is not about punishment, simply about making better choices. We will teach them diet and planning that will help them far beyond the program.
Exercise is also a big focal point here at our summer camp. Instead of traditional exercise such as a gym treadmill, teens will participate in wilderness treks and hiking adventures, and learn that exercise can be fun and rewarding.
Losing weight is exceedingly hard when you’re an adult. Starting a new diet and exercise program can be rough on anyone. For a teenager, losing weight can seem like an unreachable goal.

We have three major components to our program, and consider ourselves not to be a traditional fat camp. While we do focus on diet and exercise, we also focus on mental health, and spiritual and mental well-being.
