When a child goes through any type of problem, it can be difficult for a parent. Parents of those with teenagers experiencing problems with alcohol and drugs can go through heartbreak on a daily basis. When a child has a physical problem, they are taken to a doctor. Here at Rites of Passage NW, we have a long term drug treatment center in Washington to help troubled teens rediscover a life without drugs and alcohol.

Sometimes a little bit of treatment just isn’t enough, and teens need something more intense to help them get back on track. We are by no means a “boot camp” or anything of the sort. Here at Rites of Passage NW we combine many different types of therapies so that children can rediscover life and nature. For instance, teens will have traditional therapies, such as group therapy and individual counseling, but also experience unique therapy, such as wilderness therapy, rites of passage therapy, and equine therapy.

We find that by getting kids back to nature, they can become better connected with themselves. Our students here at Rites of Passage NW also will volunteer in the community, participate in chores and team-building exercises, and will find gainful employment post-program. By the end of our long-term treatment, teenagers can not only better handle a life without drugs, but also interpersonal communication with their peers and elders.
