It is never easy for a parent to watch their child go through tough times. When it is in the realm of relationships and dating, or getting good grades, parents typically have a handle on the situation. When a child is involved in alcohol and drug abuse, parents may feel helpless and may not know where to turn. School guidance counselors or weekly therapy may be a good start, but for some troubled teens, it is not enough. Some teenagers need a more intense therapy to get them back on the right track. Here at Rites of Passage NW, we have a long term drug treatment center in the NW to do just that, and to help teens rediscover a life without the use of drugs or alcohol.
Part of what makes Rites of Passage NW such a success is its combination of different types of therapies. While teens will have traditional therapy such as individual counseling and group therapy with other teens, Rites of Passage NW offers equine therapy, rites of passage therapy, wilderness therapy, and more to help teens not only get back to nature, but rediscover themselves. Our students here are taught to be goal-oriented, and will learn about accountability and responsibility. They are expected to pitch in with daily chores, volunteer in the community, and communicate well with their peers. By the end of our program, they are taught how to find gainful employment.
Teenagers can be under a lot of stress, and we help them learn how to handle it.
