Long Term Care Program in the NW

Long Term Care Program in the NW

It is extremely hard for any parent to watch their son or daughter go through any kind of trouble or sickness. When it comes to drug and alcohol problems or substance abuse, parents can often feel helpless, as if they have nowhere to turn. School counselors can be helpful, but extremely busy, and weekly therapy isn’t always effective for every child. Here at Rites of Passage NW, we have a long term care program in the NW that we have found to be excellent treatment for teenagers in the throes of substance abuse.  Our unique combination of conventional and unique therapies make our program a wonderful experience for the suffering teenager.

While we offer conventional therapy such as group therapy and individual therapy, we also offer unique opportunities such as wilderness therapy, rites of passage therapy, and equine therapy. In our long-term program, teens will also volunteer in the community, learn better social skills for dealing with their peers and adults, learn how to gain employment, and learn how to be part of a team. We help teens rediscover themselves and their value without the use of alcohol or drugs.

Think of all of the stress that an adult goes under, magnify it, and this is the likely amount of stress that a teenager goes through. However, teenagers do not have the life experience and coping skills that adults do. Here at Rites of Passage NW, we want to put more tools in their toolbox, so to speak.
