Gregory Ekrem - Wilderness Therapy Field Instructor

Gregory was born and raised in the Seattle area, where he has spent most of his life exploring the wilderness that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Gregory has also spent two winter seasons living in Breckenridge, Colorado working with the ski resort. He has a BA in Communication from Seattle Pacific University and has his CPR/AED and Wilderness First Responder certifications from the Wilderness Medicine Training Center. He has over ten years of experience working with youth of various backgrounds, from teaching a summer school program with students hailing from 16 different countries, to helping organize and run a week long wakeboard/water-ski camp for high school students. During his free time, Gregory does his best to get outside as much as possible. His favorite activities include hiking, biking, climbing, skiing and snowboarding.

Gregory has a personal connection to wilderness therapy, having been a participant in a program based out of Minnesota when he was in his early teens. The positive impact that that program had on his life is what inspired Gregory to seek out the role of Field Instructor for ROP. Gregory is excited to work with your youth and to help facilitate the life-changing experiences that he knows are possible through wilderness therapy.
